Summary

The 3rd Infantry Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps of Ft. Myer, VA pose on the historic 1922 American LaFrance, Brunswick's 1st fire truck. This photo was taken in November, 1961.

Performances by this marching band were considered a highlight of Brunswick Veterans' Day Parades for years. Richard Bowers, Sr. was instrumental in the 1950s and '60s in getting key state politicians and military groups like this to participate in the parade and was especially proud to get the Old Guard several times.
