REF.OB

Weverton Md. Dec 6,1855

Gentlemen; Having purchased the mill property at lock 31 commonly called the "Stone Mill n and intending to build a large flour mill there, I am desirous to ascertain whether your company will grant me the privilege of building rights to the canal this I can't do if I am restricted by the line of the canal.

Being fully satisfied that no

injury will result from the change of line induces me to believe that this privilege will be granted without hesitation after an examination by the proper officer of the company.

I therefore

respectfully solicit you to send as early as practicable an officer to make the examination. I am Gentlemen respectfully Howard Paceley
