He was rarely seen without his trademark pipe. Nininger was a great stock car racer and won Hagerstown Raceway track and Winchester "200" championships in 1974. Did he win any other championships? With his experience as an auto mechanic, Red opened Nininger's Tire & Auto Center at 302 Petersville Road in Brunswick in 1977.
