Summary

A longtime dairy Knoxville dairy farmer, who was inducted into the Maryland Agriculture Hall of Fame in 1995, Leon Enfield (1933-2018) was well known for his jousting activities. He was a member of various clubs including the Maryland Jousting Tournament Association and the Western Maryland Jousting Club. He won four National Jousting Championship titles and eight State Championship titles. He was a charter member of the National Jousting Hall of Fame, Class of 1979. Leon was inducted into the Frederick County Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

A local 4-H leader, Mr. Enfield served as President of Frederick County Farm Bureau from 1967-70, Vice President of Maryland Farm Bureau from 1975-80 and President of Maryland Farm Bureau from 1981-83. He served on the Maryland Agriculture Commission for 6 years, as chair from 1970-82. He also served and chaired on many agriculture-oriented committees through 2008.
