Summary

The Feagaville General Store in the 1980s proved to be one of the most "liked" photos ever on Smoketown History

According to Heritage Frederick:

"Charles Edward Feaga opened a general store in the community of Red Springs in 1885. When a post office was established at the store, it was given the name Feagaville, which has remained in use to the present day. Charles' son Harry Feaga managed the store for over 60 years before his death in 1961, by which time his son, James, assumed management.

James, his wife Virginia Saylor Feaga, and their family continued to operate their Feagaville general store for the next 35 years, during which time their son James opened an auto repair shop next door. After three generations and over a century in business, the general store closed in the mid-1990s."

Milt Tipperman James and Virginia Feaga kind, good folks, lived in the home adjoining the store. Son Jim lived close by in the house on the corner of Feagaville Lane and rt 180 (Jefferson Pike), also kind and generous supporter of the community hall across from St Luke's Church.

Sylvia Puddy In the summer, my Dad would take us and some of the neighborhood kids a ride in the back of our truck through the countryside. We would stop by for a pop or ice cream.

June Copeland I grow up in Feagaville! Mr Feaga drove the school bus.

Emily Buri The garage next door called Jim's Pop Shop. I remember my parents taking us out there all of the time as well as my aunt who locked her keys in her car there.
