Summary
This is a First Baptist Church Vacation Bible School photo from the 1940s or '50s, posed on the front steps facing East towards Petersville Road, probably around high noon. Upper right, you can see the rails from the next set of steps up.
Judging from other photos we have of VBS from that era, we’re pretty sure Elizabeth Potter is the lady on the top left. Since she was a teenager in some of the previous photos we've posted of VBS groups from that church, this very well could've been taken in the 1950s. The lady next to her has been confirmed to be Gertie Lancaster.
Some of the children that have been identified are:
Top row - Elizabeth Potter, Gertie Lancaster or Goldie Baker, Mrs. Nuse.
A shirtless John Paul Jones is holding the American Flag and Ernie King is below Mrs. Nuse in the 4th row.
The little girl in the 3rd row with her finger on her nose is believed to be Billie Longerbeam (Fawley).
Front row - Dori Anderson (left), Nancy Shriver Virts (3rd), Nancy Carmack (right). David Carmack above Nancy Carmack.
