Summary
The inscription on the back of the photo reads, "This was the last steam engine into Washington DC." It was B&O engine 5306. According to forum.trains.com, the 5306 left Washington for Baltimore's Camden Station at 6:30pm on November 2, 1953.
From left are Paul Dowell, Station Master, Washington DC; D.W. Keyser, Conductor, and Buck Lowery, Engineer. A Brunswick resident, Mr. Keyser retired in 1957 after 52 years of service.
Terry Himes Robinson Daniel Webster Keyser was my Great Grandfather. His daughter Clara Francis Keyser was my Grandmother, who married Joseph Lawrence "Tojo" Himes. He also retired from the B&O Railroad as an Engineer on the Cumberland Division. As a side note, I also retired from the railroad, with my last position being for Amtrak at Union Station.
