(This is a depiction of the B&O Bridge at Point of Rocks before it was destroyed by the Confederate Army at the beginning of the Civil War in June, 1861. In the early days of the Civil War, the Rebels were intent on destroying the 3 river bridges at Point of Rocks, Berlin and Harpers Ferry, to prevent the Union from invading Virginia. Summary
