Summary
An old postcard of the War Correspondents Arch, located just over the Frederick County border in Washington County, Maryland, on the top of South Mountain at Gathland State Park on old Route 40. This is the only monument in the world dedicated to the memory of war correspondents. This unusual piece of masonry was erected by George Alfred Townsend, who was a famous author and war correspondent himself.
