The late Arthur Lutman may never know how much his research at the Court House and the

maps of Berlin that he created helped us. There is another book waiting to be written, just from his maps. We appreciate all you did and hope that now the people of Brunswick that knew you are aware of this contribution to your town. We thank ~hree organizations that have been so generous with us in our money needs, especially for publishing this book; The American Legion Post 96, The Eagles Club, and The Moose Club, and others who have helped. Thanks to the many who turned over their old pictures to us. The History Commission is deeply indebted to our member Betty Lou Cavalier, who donated the computer on which this entire book was typed. Without the printer contributed by Wendell Stewart's son-in-law, Thomas Dunbar of Scottsdale, Arizona, the computer could not have been used. Thank you Betty Lou and Tom. All these people were the auxiliary staff in producing this book. The editor thanks the official staff: Thank you, Elizabeth Frye, for being a forceful Managing Editor. You always knew where we were and where we had to go and helped us get there. Thank you, Richard Harrington, for typing every word in this book (sometimes four or five times); for picking up errors and inserting omissions, for being an editor as well as a computer operator, and writing meticulously clear articles. Thank you Bill Harrington, for writing tersely, helping the Managing Editor to manage, for making phone contacts for information, and picking up many loose ends that the rest of us never thought of. Thank you Wendell Stewart for organizing about 1,000,000 pictures, getting reprints when necessary, then selecting the most appropriate and arranging them for the book. Thank you Betty Lou Cavalier for recalling so much about Brunswick's past, for writing with a free spirit, and for bringing in a ray of sunshine and humor when we needed it most. Last but not least, thank you Russell Baker, for keeping your vivid memories of Brunswick over the years, for sharing them with the world, and for allowing us to use them in this book. We couldn't have finished the book without every one of you!

Sincerely,

MARY MARGRABE
