I am now shut out from any market and have on hand a large I would quantity much of which I have engaged to deliver at once.I would here respectfully call your attention to the condition of "the basin" of which I spoke. It was designed to answer the double use of convenience to the neighborhood and as a feeder to the canal. I learn that your company has the superintendence of all basins and indeed that they are a part of the property of the Co. and that no private person has the right to clean out or repair. I request therefore that an order be given to clean it which can be done with very little expense to the company. Both places that I have mentioned will scarcely give me sufficient room to send off my material as fast as I would like. Your attention to these things is respectfully requested.

Your obedient servant

P.S. I inclose a stamp for your reply.
