Weverton Washington Co. Md. April 21, 1868 To the President and Directors of the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Company Gentlemen: The undersigned resident in the vicinity of Weverton Mill have learned with regret that your company has thought to deprive the Weverton Mill of the use of the waste water from the canal at this place.
We most respectfully ask you to reconsider your order in
regard to the change and if upon a more thorough investigation of the subject can find it is or has not been of any injury to the canal we hope you will restore it to the mill. Very Respectfully, Alex G. Edwards
