REF.66 At the request of Leonard Smith the following Deed was recorded Dec 5, 1780 This indenture made this seventh day of November Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred eighty, Between Clement Holliday of Prince Georges County in the State of Maryland gentleman of the one part and Leonard Smith of Frederick County and state aforesaid of the other part: Witness that the said Clement Holliday for and in consideration of the sum of ten thousand pounds continental currency to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he the said Clement Holliday doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents he the said Clement Holliday doth give grant bargain and sell unto him the said Leonard Smith all that part of a tract or parcel of land contained within the courses lessor limits and distances herein after expressed being part of a tract or parcel of land called Hawkins Merry Peep A Day lying situate and being in Frederick County. Beginning at the mouth of a small branch emptying into the Potomac River at or near the head of the third course of a tract of land called Coxens Rest and thence 1.
