Last Will and Testament

of Leonard Smith; page 1

In the Name of God Amen I Leonard Smith of Frederick County and State of Maryland being sick and weak in Body tho of sound mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same, do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following __:

1st: I assign my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named ~

2nd: I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth Smith one Negro Girl called Lizey exclusive of her third, and also during her natural life one Negro woman called Mildred, and after that period give and bequeath said Negro Mildred to my daughter Jean Smith should she prefer said Negro to Negro Sall hereafter named; and I also give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth Smith all my household and kitchen furnishings and after her death to my daughter Jean Smith ~

3rd: I give and bequeath to my daughter jean Smith one Negro Girl called Sall ~

4th: I give and bequeath to my Son Benjamin smith one Negro Boy called Henly and fifty pounds ____ land currency to be paid by my Executor hereafter named ~

5th: I give and bequeath to my son Raphael smith one Negro boy called Bew ~

6th: I give and bequeath to my son John one Negro boy called Lewis ~

7th: I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin Smith one Lot in the Town in the town of Berlin No. 11~

8th: I give and bequeath to my son John Smith one lot in the Town of Berlin No. 46~

9th: I give and bequeath to my Joseph Smith two Lots in the Town of Berlin No. 33 & 34 ~

10th: I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Jameson one lot in the Town of Berlin No., 22.~
