Which report is in these words to wit: Agreeable to an order of Loudoun Court we have this day examined the place therein proposed for a public landing on the Potomac and are of opinion that there is no situation on said river better calculated for a landing and that it is absolutely necessary that there should be one on that part of the river as there is no other situation that we know of between the Catoctin Mountain and Berlin Ferry that will answer the purpose.

We are also of the

opinion the damage to Wm. Jenkins ought not to be very considerable as it will not require more than one eighth part of an acre of tillable land for the purpose there being a sufficiency of low ground for principal purposes.
