00:07, 3 November 2025 River Bridge Iron Bridge, circa 1910.JPG (file) 1.3 MB Here's another view of the 1893 iron bridge from the Virginia side. You can see new homes popping up all over the hills that housed workers for the B&O railyards that opened in 1891. The photo likely dates to the early 20th century when the classification yards were expanded by the company. It was after 1907 because we see the then-new S.W. George & Co., which opened that year, at almost dead center of the photo. Category:Smoketown Potomac River and C&O Canal 1

22:31, 2 November 2025 West End School Students & Teacher.jpg (file) 200 KB This is an old school photo that was found in the Brunswick History Commission archives. It's difficult to tell if it was taken at the West End or East End elementary school, but most likely the former given the addresses of some of the students identified. It likely dates to the early 20th century. Jacquelyn M Ebersole I would say this picture was taken at the West End School at the back of the building. East End does not have a wall that looks like that but West End does. John Roby Morsbe... 1

21:57, 1 November 2025 Outhouse and dog.jpg (file) 929 KB In the 1960s, you could still see outhouses like this on properties throughout the Brunswick area. Since Mr. Kaplon always walked to and from the store on Saturdays, he may have taken this photo along Petersville Road on his way home to Rosemont. Peter Wenner I think the location of that photo may have been the Virts house next to the Giffins on Petersville Road. I remember they had a similar looking outhouse. As I recall, the family moved in the late 1960s and the house was torn down not l... 1
