Some memories include: Angela Berry Selby I stayed there in 92 and my cabin had metal cots. My cabin also had a fireplace. Wenner and family members to deposit daily earnings from The City Meat Market on W. Potomac Street into the bank. According to Judge Bill Wenner, only family members were allowed to staff the cash register and drop off the daily proceeds. The store stood where the Ambulance Company resides today. The 1957 Chevrolet fire engine was so named because Jimmy Dean and the Texas Wildcats appeared so often at the Brunswick Fire Hall in the 1950s, the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Dept was able to buy it. 4.75 MB The areas of Lovettsville and Brunswick were originally known as “The German Crossing” because German settlers migrated from York and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania ("Pennsylvania Dutch" or "Deutsch") to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. This is an early photo of the ferry sometime in the mid- to late-19th Century. Potomac Street and Jordan House on Maryland Avenue above the station create an L-shaped perimeter that remains today. Fast Eddie's operated at this location until the 1990s and was known for it's delicious fried chicken and potato wedges.
